Ra'amiel - "Trembling Before
God." According to the Third Book of Enoch, Ra'amiel
belongs to the Rulers of the Earth and is responsible
for thunder. He frequently works with Matariel, another
angel from the same group, who is in charge of rain.
Ra'sshiel - According to the Third Book
of Enoch, Ra'ashiel belongs to the Rulers of the Earth
and is responsible for earthquakes.
Ra'asiel X - Ra' asiel X is an angel
invoked in ritual magic.
Racheil (Rachiel) - Racheil belongs
to the choir of Ophanim and is the ruler of the planet
Venus. Because of Venus' association with love and sexuality,
Racheil can be invoked for help in these areas.
Rachmiel - Rachmiel is one of the angels
of mercy. He is also some times invoked for help during
childbirth.
Radueriel (Vretil) - The heavenly register
and recording angel, leader of the celestial choirs, creator
of the lesser angels. He is also included among the 8
great judgment princes of the throne, whose rank is superior
to Metatron's. He is the angel of poetry and master of
muses. Of Raduriel it is said "out of every word
that go forth from his mouth, a song uttering angel is
born". *Since the creator alone has the power and
the privilege to do likewise, this makes Radueriel unique
among his fellow hierarch's.
(Radweriel) - Radueriel is described in the Third Book
of Enoch as the celestial archivist, and he is believed
to be the wisest angel in Heaven. He is also leader of
the heavenly choirs, and is said to be a prince of the
Sarim, which makes him an extremely important angel. Some
sources say he is more important than Metatron. Radueriel
is important in another way, also. Apparently, according
to the Talmud, every time Radueriel says something, a
new angel is created. He is the only angel in the entire
celestial kingdom with this God-given ability. Radueriel
is also the angel of poetry and can be invoked whenever
you seek wisdom or insight.
Rael - A Wednesday angel residing
in the third heaven. He is also one of the intelligence's
of the planet Venus. Invocant must face North when conjuring
up Rael.
Raguel - Angel of God - The name Raguel
(also Raguil or Rasuil, among other variant spellings)
means "friend of God." According to the Book
of Enoch, Raguel is an archangel charged with overseeing
the good behavior of the other angels. He is also said
to be an angel of Earth and a guardian of the second heaven,
and is supposed to have brought Enoch to heaven.
Rahab - is referred to as an angel of
the sea. In Hebrew, he is also called 'sar shel yam',
"prince of the primordial sea." These titles
were bestowed on him as a result of his exploits during
Creation, as described in ancient Jewish legend. The story
relates that God was working on separating the upper and
lower waters of the cosmos in order to have an area in
which to place Earth. God needed assistance and commanded
Rahab to swallow all of the world's water, Rahab foolishly
refused and was put to death by God for his disobedience.
Unfortunately, though, his corpse exuded and extremely
foul odor, and no one on Earth could stand it. So God
relocated Rahab's remains deep beneath the sea.
Rahatiel (Rahtiel) - According to Jewish
tradition, Rahatiel is one of the Rulers of the Earth
and is responsible for looking after the constellations
and the stars. According to the Third book of Enoch, Metatron
named all the stars for Rabbi Ishmael and Rahatiel "entered
them in counted order" (3 Enoch 46).
Rahdar - With the aid of his generous
brother Phakiel, Rahdar governs the zodiac sign Cancer.
Rahmiel (Ra'amiel or Rhamiel) - Rahmiel
and Raphael are the two angels of mercy, compassion, and
love. Rahmiel can be called upon to help people who lack
love and compassion. Rahmiel's main task is to encourage
empathy, kindness, compassion, and understanding throughout
the world. Some people believed that when St. Francis
died, he became the angel Rahmiel. Enoch, Elijah, St.
Anne (the mother of the Virgin Mary), St. Francis of Assisi,
and Moroni are the only other humans who may have been
transformed into angels. This is called angelification.
Enoch became Metatron, Elijah became Sandalphon, Jacob
became Uriel, and St. Anne became Anas.
Rain - The angels who hold dominion
over moisture and rain can be appealed to by repeating
their names over and over in a chant: "Mathariel,
Ridia, Matriel." These angels are especially protective
of people who conserve water and can inspire humans
to do so. We also pray to these sacred ones for renewal
and regeneration.
Ramiel - Angel of Thunder - Chief of thunder, Ramiel has
charge of the souls that come up for judgment on the last
day, although in Enoch's writing he is reported as both
a holy angel and a fallen one.
Ramona - Teutonic: Wise protector.
Rampel - An angel who holds dominion
over mountains. We pray to Rampel for inner strength,
stability and endurance. When we climb a mountain, or
simply gaze at a mountain, this angel is near.
Raphael - Angel of Healing - One of the princes of the
presence and regent of the sun. This archangel is extremely
healing to all living beings. Raphael grants joy, healing,
love, miracles and grace. He inspires humankind to pray
and is also protective of travelers, guarding and guiding
those who take outward or inward journeys. Raphael also
grants courage and encourages scientific breakthroughs
and knowledge in general. Essene prayer: "Raphael,
Angel of Sun, enter my solar center and give the fire
of life to my whole body."
His name means "God has healed." According
to legend/myth, this true name was Labbiel. "God
changed his name from Labbiel to Raphael when he sided
with God on the issue of creating man." He is one
of the seven angels that attend the throne of God. He
belongs to at least four of the celestial orders: seraphim,
cherubim, dominions, and powers. Raphael is known to
be the angel of science and knowledge.
He holds the title of the Angel of Healing. Raphael
is the archangel of healing, physical body, and world
healing. He is charged with healing mankind and the
earth. He has been recorded throughout time as healing
and as being the author of healing books (cited in some
sources for example: Book of Raziel). This is the book
that legend says he gave to Noah that contained cures
for diseases.
Titles for which Archangel Raphael holds are; Angel
of Love, Chief of the Guardian Angels, Ruler of the
Sun, Angel of Heat, Prince of Virtues, Guardian of the
Tree of Life, Angel of Sunday, Angel of Compassion,
Angel of Force, Angel of the Melon Bush and the Angel
of Wednesday.
Archangel to those born under the sign: Gemini - Cancer
- Capricorn (Alternate resources state: Gemini, Libra,
and Aquarius). He is of the four winds, and his direction
is east. Being of healing his energy color is blue. His
element is Air. His season is spring. Tree: Aspen. His
symbol is the serpent (Caduceus). Other symbols associated
with Raphael are a "vial of balm and an arrow."
Colors representative of Raphael are: orange and light
blue.
Rapithwin - Rapithwin is a yazata angel
in the Zoroastrian tradition. He looks after the hours
from noon until 3pm, and he is known as Lord of the Noonday
Heat. Rapithwin is important, as it is his gentle warmth
that enables crops to grow. During the winter months,
he ensures the roots of plants do not freeze.
Rash - An angel, minister of justice.
Rashnu - Angel of Judgment - The stern
but upright angel who judges the newly dead souls in
the ancient Persian religion of Zoroastrianism.
After a person's death, his soul has to cross the Cinvat
Bridge to get from this world to heaven, but there stands
Rashnu, the bridge's guardian, blocking the way. For
three days, the soul waits beside its corpse while Rashnu
ponders his verdict on how the person has spent his
life on earth. Rashnu weights the worthiness of the
soul in golden scales so sensitive and accurate that
they do not deviate by a hair's breadth. A good person,
passing muster, is helped by a comely maiden in the
difficult crossing over this transitional bridge. But
the wicked person finds that the already challenging
bridge becomes far worse, as narrow as a razor's edge.
Getting no help, he falls off and plummets downward
to devils waiting below to torture him.
Raziel (Galizur) - Angel of Mysteries - The chief of the
supreme mysteries, angel of secret regions, one of the
archangelic governors of the Briatic world; preceptor
angel of Adam, herald of deity, and reputed author of
The Book of the Angel Raziel.
Rehael - Angel of Respect - Rehael belongs to the choir
of Powers and is the angel of longevity. Rehael is one
of the 72 Schemhamphoras. Rehael is the angel of self-respect,
and works tirelessly to inspire respect for one's parents.
He also works hard to promote humanitarian ideals. Rehael
works with both the mind and the body, promoting health.
Rehael can be invoked for health matters, self-respect,
and respect for others (especially parents). Rehael is
guardian angel for people born between October 4 &
8.
Rehel - An angel who battles against
the enemies of religion.
Rejajel (Reiiel or Reiyel) - Rejajel
belongs to the choir of Dominions and is one of the 72
Schemhamphoras, a group of angels who bear the various
names of God found in Jewish scriptures. He is guardian
angel for people born between August 13 & 17. People
who are thinking ahead and making long-term plans can
call upon him for help and advice.
Remiel - Angel of Awakening - Each of us has
a different concept of what it means to be awakened. The

from pain and suffering. Remiel is the angelic awakener
whose goal is to bring you to Higher Power... consciousness
and union with with your Eternal self.
Requiel - Requiel is one of the 28 angels
who govern the mansions of the moon. Requiel is in charge
of Zabadola, the 23rd mansion. In this role, he helps
sick people regain their health. He also helps prisoners
gain their freedom and encourages unhappy couples to divorce.
Rhaumel - A Friday angel of the fifth
heaven, evoked from the north.
Ridwan - The Moslem angel guarding
the entrance of the terrestrial Paradise.
Riehol - In cabala, governor of the
zodiacal sign of Scorpio, in this office Riehol is assisted
by Sassaial.
Rigziel - In Isaac Ha-Cohen's text,
"emanations of the left side". Rigziel is
8th of the ten holy Sefiroth.
Rikbiel - Chief of the divine chariot;
prince of the Merkabah angels.
Risnuch - Angel of agriculture.
Rochel - An angel who finds lost objects.
Rochel is the angel of lost property and can be invoked
when anything is misplaced or lost. Rochel is also the
guardian angel of people born between March 1 & 5.

Ruman - Ruman is the angel in the Islamic
tradition who greets sinners when they first reach Hell.
He ensures they write down every sin they have ever committed
and then passes them to Munkar and Nakir.
