Sahasrara, Crown, Seventh Chakra element inner light

The seventh chakra lies at the crown of the head. This is our connection with the world of the spiritual and mystical. This is where we connect with the collective unconscious. Symbolically, it is the connecting point to our archetypes, the original contracts we entered into when we incarnated.

The physical connection to the physical body in this chakra is the muscular system, the skeletal system and the skin.

Emotionally and phychologically, this is the area of our higher self. Our values and ethics reside here. Our ability to trust in life itself, to see ourselves as part of a whole, our humanitarianism and selflessness come from our seventh chakra. Sirituality, devotion, true gratitude and appreciation, our Faith and our inspiration our crown chakra energies. This is an area of our body and our energetic system that is most difficult to comprhend and develop simply because for so many, it is completely ignored. Yet more and more in our society, there is a development of seventh chakra awarness that can be found in the general movement towards consciousness and in areas of holistic health care. We seek to know more about ourselves through therapy and spiritual practices. There is a broadening of socail consciousness that began in the sixites with the protests of the war, the civil rights and women's movements. There is a general seventh chakra "yearning" that seems to continue to grow among us.
